The Late Bloomer’s Guide to Starting Over

Hi Creative Minds,

Welcome to the very first edition of the Jaha Newsletter — and to your own new beginning.

Whether you’re dusting off your journal, your keyboard, or your courage, you’re not behind. You’re right on time.

🎵 Why Starting Over is a Superpower

I used to think being “late” meant I missed the boat. But now I know: starting later means I arrive with intention. With clarity. With soul.

If you’re just beginning again — at music, at creativity, at trusting your voice — know this: every moment you’ve lived until now has prepared you.

Here’s what I’ve learned lately:

  • Trust comes before technique
  • Progress isn’t linear
  • Your path is yours alone, and that’s what makes it beautiful

🔧 Practice Corner

3 Easy Ways to Ease Back In:

  1. Set up a tiny creative corner — even if it’s just a chair and headphones
  2. Start with 10 minutes. That’s it. You’ve already begun.
  3. Do what feels good first — not what you “should” do

If you’re looking for a gentle tool to get going, I created something for you:

📓 From My Journal

I wrote this recently while sitting with all the versions of myself I’ve been:

However you got here, you have to celebrate. Because it got you to this moment in time. Where you have new eyes for everything. You have faced many defeats, but haven't been defeated. You've studied and learned and said thank you to the hands that held you and guided your way. Every season has its beauty, and now is our time. There's something about a late bloomer. They're intricate and unique. You work harder to remember its name and where you first saw it. You drink in the moment because you both know how wonderful of a sight it is.

I hope you’ll write something of your own this week — just one line. Your story matters here.

✍🏾 This Month’s Journal Prompts:

  • What does “starting over” mean to you right now?
  • What would you create if no one was watching?
  • What’s one small step you can take today?

📮 Goodies that make this Month even better:

📚 Currently Learning: Editing! Starting Over means using alllllll the videos and photos on my camera and finally releasing them.

🧶 Latest Hobby: Legos - I got so much joy making this cute little bamboo :)

🎵 On Repeat:

🌿 Coming Next Month:

In July, we’ll explore sustainable creative habits and what it means to find your voice — not the one they told you to have.

Until then, breathe. Begin. Bloom slow.

With love,

Desiree
